You know the Design Centre? No? The biggest interior design shopping centre in the UK, you've never been? Then let us let you in on the best kept interior design secret in London.....
As the name suggests this enormous shopping centre hides in the exclusive harbour at the bottom of Lots Road, Chelsea. Within three domed areas and East building, all four storeys high, CHDC is home to 120 showrooms and over 600 of the world's most prestigious luxury interior design brands.
Wallpaper, tiles, paint, floor coverings, kitchens, fabric, lighting, furniture, books, window treatments, home accessories you name, they've got it.
As well as the showrooms, the centre boasts a restaurant, cafè, coffee shop, RIBA bookshop and member's club. It's so big you have to spend days in there to see everything. I saw hardly any of the showrooms on my recent three hour visit and still snapped all these photos, not to mention the masses of fabric and wallpaper samples I brought back to the office (more about them in my next post).
So why haven't you heard about this until now? Well the centre caters primarily for designers, so no surprise that its wall-to-wall, white shirt wearing, beautifully presented blonde women (and men) sauntering around with bags of fabric samples, drinking coffee (for stamina) and discussing trade discounts (which are very important).
However, what a lot of people don't realise is that it's open to the public too (however do note that it's only open on week days but don't let that discourage you). So go and explore this mecca of interior design and if you need someone to hold your hand we'll come along and show you our favourites.
Did your 2017 new year's resolutions include modernising your space? Well it's the middle of January and I'm guessing you've not done much about this yet have you? Personally, I haven't started a my weekly yoga class yet. But don't worry, here are some ways in which we can help you
Mood Boards and Sample Boards
Not sure where to start or need a striking scheme for your space? We will create an easy to follow design board which includes colours, fabric and furniture, as well as suggestions for those extra, quirky or beautiful touches that finish off a room.
Plans & Visuals
We will survey your property to get precise dimensions, then draw up detailed plans and elevations using industry standard CAD, ready to hand on to your tradespeople or use yourself. We can also provide 3D colour visualisations of your 'finished' space so that you can see the end result now.
A designer will interpret your likes and ideas into an original, workable scheme, ensuring that your home or workplace looks perfect the first time around.
We oversee everything from furniture orders and delivery to building work and snagging. We also liaise with your architects and tradespeople, working hard to ensure that the project is streamlined and as worry-free as possible.
House Doctor & Home Staging
We visit your home or business to quickly assess what will improve the space and make it make it more appealing, on-trend, exciting, impressive and profitable, whether you're selling the property or selling goods. We can also implement the changes, from finding tradespeople to styling the finished rooms.
Interiors Home Shopper
When you have your design and need to find the decorative elements or can't find a certain item, we have the know-how and trade sources to track them down and get them into your property - another chore that you don't have to worry about.
Start your project or revamp your home with a colour advice session. We'll come to you to discuss your property, then provide you with a written report full of suggestions and paint swatches.
We also offer our ONLINE only service which offers our design expertise but for less. Click here for more details
And if you're still wondering whether we can help you, just contact us to discuss your project.
