When finishing a North London sitting room design, our client wanted a luxurious, high-end look for their window treatments. The challenge? A limited budget at the end of the project. Bespoke curtains were prohibitively expensive, yet standard off-the-shelf options were too small for the large bay windows and tall French doors.
Instead, we developed a smart, tailored solution—delivering a bespoke appearance without the bespoke price tag.

Our Approach to Stylish Window Treatments

1. High-street finds with a designer finish
   We sourced beautifully textured, ready-made curtains from the high street to form the foundation of the scheme.
2. Scaling up for large windows
   To achieve the necessary size, we sewed two curtains together for each panel—transforming eight curtains into four large, luxurious panels.
3. Bespoke-style detailing
   Specialist hooks allowed us to create elegant, pleated waves, giving the curtains the look and drape of custom-made treatments.
4. Layered privacy with café curtains
   To balance light and privacy, we added natural sheer café curtains across the lower half of the windows. Hung on discreet white curtain wire, they allow sunlight to filter in while shielding the room from outside views.

The Result
The final design delivered exactly what the client envisioned: a sophisticated, high-end aesthetic that enhances the sitting room’s architecture—while saving thousands of pounds compared to a fully bespoke solution.
